From My Heart to Yours:

I Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray Without Ceasing."

God is definately telling us in this verse that He wants us to live a lifestyle of prayer. He doesn't want us to just pray when we need or want something. He doesn't want us to just pray when we are in trouble. He doesn't want us to just pray when we are ill or depressed. Although those are all good times to pray, He also wants us to pray even when we don't need or want anything in particular and even when things are going well.

To pray without ceasing means that Jesus is never far from our mind. When something happens in our life, prayer is our first line of defense. Prayer is the most powerful and often least used weapon in our arsenol.

I keep a prayer journal. Every time someone gives me a prayer request, I write it in my journal and pray regularly through it. When God answers a prayer, I write PTL (Praise the Lord) across it. Without my journal, I would not realize how many prayers God answers. I am amazed! God answers prayer! Everyday! It just makes me want to pray more and more.

It makes me want to pray without ceasing.
